Andrea Arobba

Co-Leader of the Gen Centro de Artes y Ciencias and director of the independent dance company Gen Danza. Designer and curator of the annual cycle “Solos al Mediodía” in the Delmira Agustini Hall of the Teatro Solís. Lecturer in the contemporary department of END. Fourth Dan in Aikido.

As a movement researcher, she has worked as a performer, choreographer and director on projects in Uruguay and abroad. In recent years her work has been strongly inspired by science. Most recently, she created the pieces “Historia Natural de la Belleza” and “Big Bang”, a concert for contemporary dance. The latter has been presented at the São Paulo SESC Biennial for Contemporary Dance, at the POA em Cena Festival 2017, in 2018 at the Sodre Auditorium in Montevideo as part of FIDAE and at Tanzmesse in Düsseldorf. In 2019 she developed the works “Sinapsis. Somos el resultado de nuestras conexiones” and “Epifanía”, a movement study with elements from aikido, dance and Chi Kung.

She is part of the curatorial team of the VeiculoSUR 2020 edition and is responsible for the management and production of the residency in Uruguay.
